All though I am a little late on posting this, I needed the time to soak up this album. If you have been following the site for a while then you might have seen QuESt’s name around a great number of times. QuESt has become one of my favorite rappers in recent times and with Fear Not Failure he has not shown signs of slowing his growth down.
John Q had some big shoes to fill after last year’s highly rated album The Reason: A Defense Mechanism. After taking a year break from releasing a project, I can say that it was worth the wait. Fear Not Failure is an amazing album, from the production to the lyrics. QuEst has once again out done himself; he is one of the only few artists that actually show their growth, in their personal life and in their music, in every album. During the making of Fear Not Failure, Q worked with New Zealand dubstep duo Mt. Eden, who influenced the sound of the album. That being one of the biggest difference between Fear Not Failure and The Reason.
Fear Not Failure is not an album for everyone. It is intricate, personal and lyrically, it is on another level. But for those who have actually have taken their time to listen to the album all the way through more than once then I am sure that you have found a great sense of enjoyment. With that being said, take your time and enjoy this amazing work of art and remember to support your local artists.
