  • Song: The Perfect Blues (Produced by Gora Sou)
  • Artist: Jesse Boykins III & Gora Sou
  • Album: ZULUGURU
Played 12,019 times [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

MeLo-X and Jesse Boykins III are getting ready to release their upcoming project, ZULUGURU. The album is almost done, as in the mixing stage. “The Perfect Blues” is an unfinished track as MeLo is not on the track yet, but it will definitely be featured in the album. Below, JB3 elaborates on how the track came about:

I wrote this back in november while I was out in Madrid during my stay at The Red Bull Music Academy alongside Gora Sou, an 18 year old producer from Germany. Its one of 3 or 4 songs I wrote while I was there. As soon as he played me the track I already had lyrics by time I was done listening. This song will also be featured on my next release ZULU GURU. stay tuned. #schwaza

“This song is the perfect explanation for what it means to be a human being in love with danger and risk-taking in relationships,” – Jesse Boykins III

MeLo-X - “FEWTURE” (Instrumental Album)

February 11, 2012

Here is FEWTURE, one of the best projects so far this year. MeLo out did himself with this album. I can sit here, analyze and write about all fourteen-tracks, but I would rather you make your own conclusion. Make sure you give it listen, especially all you instrumental heads out there. Enjoy and support the album.

Here is what MeLo had to say:

FEWTURE is MeLo-X’s most experimental and genre bending project since his Maxwell BLACKsummers’night Instrumental Album back in 2009. FEWTURE is a true testament to MeLo’s self proclaimed “experimental free music” style. From soundscape like tracks and piano solos, to head nodding drumloops and broken beats MeLo is truly free of any genre or style. Complex but groove worthy rhythms infused with soothing and uplifting chords created through strong synths, heavy bass lines and at times just basic piano keys help paint MeLo’s vision of the “Fewture”. There are even elements of Juke and Dirty South griminess sprinkled throughout this eclectic, abstract, and visionary album. * MeLo-X

QuESt and CrookedEngine link up with 2DopeBoyz to deliver a four-part videos series of freestyles. In the first part we have QuESt going over The Black Keys’ “Ten Cent Pistol” and making a track of his own. The four-tracks won’t be featured in QuESt’s highly anticipated album, Fear Not Failure. • Song: ROC
  • Artist: The-Dream
  • Album: Love IV: The Diary of a Mad Man
Played 14 times [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

“ROC” is The-Dream’s latests single from his highly anticipated album, Love IV: The Diary of a Mad Man. “ROC” sounds like another smash single by the singer/songwriter. As most of you of guys might know, The-Dream is one of my favorite artists in recent times and most likely of all times. I wished people could understand how talented this man is, anyways expect Love IV sometime this spring. Enjoy “ROC” until then.

January 23, 2012

Now this is my type of music. Meet Brooklyn’s own, Phony Ppl, a group of musicians, rappers and singers. They have been working on their latests project Phonyland for the last three years. Phony Ppl have a well mixed sound, that combines Jazz, Soul, Hip-Hop or any type of music that these artists decide to play. I am very excited to see what is next from Phony Ppl and I am sure that they will be one of those groups that will be in lots of people’s ears this year. Make sure to give these guys a listen.
